Mary Sky has a new Headquarters on our residency campus in Hancock, Vermont. Due to many factors pertaining both to Mary Sky and the world at large, both remote and on-campus residencies will be offered for the foreseeable future. Mary Sky continues to be committed to finding, supporting and exhibiting Contemporary artists bringing a productive mindset to meaningful work in accordance with our mission.

 

We are currently seeking applications in the form of Letters of Interest from self-identified emerging curatorial, film, visual, sound and performing artists.

GENERAL INFO

 

  • We encourage you to list your available dates for Summer/Early Fall 2021.

 

  • Please indicate if you are interested in a remote residency or traveling to our campus in Hancock, Vermont.

 

  • Feel free to include a CV, though we do not require it. In your LOI, feel free to list major influences for your work, whether they be other artists, individuals, movements, or specific works. We want to know what inspires you!

 

  • Applications are now free of charge. Please pass along this opportunity to your network.

 

  • Submission Deadline: June 1

 

 

  • Stipend structure:  Remote: USD500 .On Campus: USD900

 

  • Residency Duration: 7-12 days

 

 

OPEN RESIDENCY POSITIONS:

 

1. CURATORIAL RESIDENCY

  • Resident may bring their own curatorial project(s), and/or work with Mary Sky to produce an exhibition in our devoted gallery space on our campus in Hancock, Vermont
  • Curatorial experience is useful, though not required
  • Submission:
    • A proposal with at least two (2) and no more than ten (10) images for a curatorial project. Can be intended for exhibition with Mary Sky or elsewhere. The intended venue will not affect your chances of acceptance into the program
    • A letter of interest outlining your relationship to curatorial thought and perspective, as well as your personal achievements, goals and priorities
    • CV accepted though not required

 

 

 

2. Visual Arts OR Performing Arts Residency

  • Resident may bring an existing or new project proposal. Please include as much detail as possible, included intended exhibition venue (if not sure, please state), approximate project budget, and major influences or impetus for the project
  • Submission:
    • A project proposal consistent with the above, including at least two (2) and no more than seven (7) images, sound or video samples, or other reference media as pertains to your body of work and the relevant proposal
    • A letter of interest outlining a general artist statement, personal achievements, interests, priorities and goals
    • CV accepted though not required

 

 

 

3. Film Residency

  • Resident may bring an existing or new project proposal. Please include as much detail as possible, including project stage, project type or scope, estimated budget, your creator role(s), and any other information you deem relevant
  • Submission:
    • A project proposal consistent with the above. Please be thorough and accurate in the information you provide. Samples or reference media accepted though not required. If you choose to include samples, we will accept up to a maximum total of seven (7) images, video or writing samples, or other media as it pertains to your body of work and the relevant proposal
    • A letter of interest outlining your relationship to the cinematic arts, personal achievements, influences, interests, and goals
    • CV accepted though not required
